Drop Bars / Road Bike

Hoods

  1. With a correctly fitted Trigger Bell v6 you can brake and ring 5 times per second
  2. Find where the Trigger Bell hammer should sit on your LEFT handlebar;
  3. Your thumb comfortably sits where bell hammer should be
  4. Release the cable tie with a screwdriver
  5. To position correctly, turn the bell upside down and wrap around the left hood
  6. Insert the loose end into the chassis and pull through to roughly secure Trigger Bell
  7. Test the position to ensure you can ring, brake and change gear
  8. Adjust if necessary and test again
    Secure in position by pulling the loose end of the cable tie again; Firmly pull down on the cable tie while applying upward pressure on the bell to hear a few more clicks
  9. Test for safer ringing
  10. Finally, trim loose cable tie leaving about 0.5cm excess
  11. If you need to tighten your cable tie a little more… grip loose end with pliers and apply upward pressure to bell; Listen for 1-2 more clicks

Flat Bars

No Gears

  1. With a correctly fitted Trigger Bell v6 you can brake and ring 5 times per second
  2. Find where the Trigger Bell hammer should sit; Your thumb comfortably sits where bell hammer should be
  3. If required, loosen the cable tie with a screwdriver
  4. To reattach, simply feed the cable tie back through the chassis
  5. Position correctly: Bell pointing forward and below left brake
  6. Tighten cable tie: Hold the bell in place and pull the loose end to ring while braking
  7. Final tighten: Hold the loose end and push the bell down; Hear 1-2 more clicks
  8. Test for safer ringing
  9. Finally, trim loose cable tie leaving about 0.5cm excess
  10. If you need to tighten your cable tie a little more… grip loose end with pliers and apply downward pressure to bell; Listen for 1-2 more clicks

Trigger Gear Shifters

  1. With a correctly fitted Trigger Bell v6, on your RIGHT handlebar, you can brake and ring at the same time
  2. Find where the Trigger Bell hammer should sit; Your right thumb comfortably reaches where the bell hammer should be above the handlebar
  3. If required, loosen the cable tie with a  screwdriver
  4. To reattach, simply feed the cable tie back through the chassis
  5. To position correctly, slide onto the RIGHT grip pointing forward and above the brake
  6. Pull the loose end of the cable tie to slightly secure Trigger Bell in place
  7. Test the position to ensure you can brake and ring at the same time
  8. Secure in position by pulling the loose end of the cable tie again; Firmly pull down on the cable tie while applying upward pressure on the bell to hear a few more clicks
  9. Test again for safer ringing
  10. Finally, trim loose cable tie leaving about 0.5cm excess
  11. If you need to tighten your cable tie a little more… grip loose end with pliers and apply updward pressure to bell; Listen for 1-2 more clicks
  12. You’re ready for safer ringing

Rapid Fire Gear Shifters

  1. With a correctly fitted Trigger Bell v6, on your LEFT handlebar, you can brake and ring 5 times per second
  2. Ideally the brake and gear shifters shouldn’t touch the bell, but it’s ok if there is some contact as the bell will bend out of the way
  3. Find where the Trigger Bell hammer should sit; Your left thumb comfortably sits where bell hammer should be
  4. If required, loosen the cable tie with a  screwdriver
  5. To reattach, simply feed the cable tie back through the chassis
  6. To position correctly, slide onto the LEFT grip pointing forward and below the brake
  7. Pull the loose end of the cable tie to slightly secure Trigger Bell in place
  8. Test the position to ensure you can brake and ring at the same time and change gear
  9. If the brake lever or gear shifters touch the bell, then adjust the bell position
  10. Secure in position by pulling the loose end of the cable tie again; Firmly pull up on the cable tie while applying downward pressure on the bell to hear a few more clicks
  11. Test again for safer ringing
  12. Finally, trim loose cable tie leaving about 0.5cm excess
  13. If you need to tighten your cable tie a little more… grip loose end with pliers and apply downward pressure to bell; Listen for 1-2 more clicks
  14. You’re ready for safer ringing

Grip Shifters

  1. With a correctly fitted Trigger Bell v6, on your LEFT handlebar, you can brake and ring 5 times per second
  2. First please move brake lever to make a 1cm gap between the brake and the grip; This is where Trigger Bell will be fitted
  3. Release the cable tie with a screwdriver
  4. To position correctly, turn the bell upside down and wrap it around the gap on the handlebar
  5. Feed the loose end of the cable tie back through the chassis
  6. Rotate the bell so that it points forwards and under the brake
  7. Pull the loose end of the cable tie to slightly secure Trigger Bell in place
  8. Test the position to ensure you can brake and ring at the same time
  9. Secure in position by pulling the loose end of the cable tie again; Firmly pull up on the cable tie while applying downward pressure on the bell to hear a few more clicks
  10. Finally, trim loose cable tie leaving about 0.5cm excess
  11. If you need to tighten your cable tie a little more… grip loose end with pliers and apply downward pressure to bell; Listen for 1-2 more clicks
  12. You’re ready for safer ringing

Other Instructions

Tighten your cable tie / Secure Trigger bell

  1. If you need to secure your Trigger Bell more tightly:
    1. Grip the loose end of the cable tie with a pair of pliers
    2. Apply opposite pressure to the bell
    3. Listen for clicks that mean the cable tie is tightening
  2. The video shows Trigger Bell fitted on flat bars but this technique applies to Trigger Bell fitted on any handlebars

Replace cable tie

  1. Cable tie is a standard 7.6mm by 200mm (or longer) releasable cable tie
  2. Ensure they are suitable for outdoor use or are UV stabilised so they can withstand sun and rain
